Bob Woodward: Some Reporters Are Becoming 'Emotionally Unhinged' Covering Trump

“That’s because he thought Crooked Hillary was going to win and he didn’t want to ‘rock the boat,’ ” Mr. Trump said on Twitter. “When I easily won the Electoral College, the whole game changed and the Russian excuse became the narrative of the Dems.”

...As the New York Times related in an exculpatory piece, “Some former Obama officials now confess to misgivings about Mr. Obama’s reluctance to act, or speak out more forcefully, even as the evidence piled up during the spring and summer of 2016 that the Russians had hacked the Democratic National Committee and were behind the leak of damaging emails about Hillary Clinton.”...

The state of California and the sanctuary city laws that make it a safe-haven for criminal illegal aliens is likely responsible for at least 5,000 crimes that were committed by criminal illegal aliens released by local authorities rather than being handed over to federal immigration officials.
According to data conducted for Breitbart News by the Center for Immigration Studies’ Director of Policy Jessica Vaughan, the state of California — which refuses to hand over criminal illegal aliens to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency — makes up about half of all non-cooperation with federal immigration officials in the U.S.

For example, roughly 50 percent of the ICE detainers — the hold that federal immigration officials place on a criminal illegal alien — ignored by local sanctuary city authorities across the U.S. occurred in California....

CNN, MSNBC Journalists Give Trump Glowing Praise for North Korea Move

...“That is an incredible thing and I don't think there’s anybody watching this or any expert on Korea who expected that response at this time, pretty stunning,” she added.

Before a commercial break at 7:35 p.m Eastern, Burnett offered this jaw-dropping quote of praise for the President: “Just an extraordinary evening and, of course, opening the door to the big question: If President Trump can truly solve this problem, that would be going down as a great President and there’s no way around that. That is the reality here.”...

Trump Is the Peacemaker Korea Has Always Needed

...While North Korea is not the Soviet Union, planning for a Trump-Kim summit is reminiscent of the tortuous road leading to the 1959 Camp David tete-a-tete, which marked the first bilateral meeting between U.S. and Soviet leaders after the onset of the cold war. The recent war of words between the American and North Korea leaders and governments is redolent of some of the bitter exchanges of the late 1950s. Back then, as now, many commentators warned against inviting an adversarial leader to a summit meeting, especially to a presidential compound. As a prominent journalist of the day put it, especially after the Soviet Union suppressed opposition to its occupation of Hungary in 1956, and then in 1958 executed Premier Imre Nagy and his advisers: “no man with such blood on his hands can hope to be received in such quarters.”

But the unthinkable happened. Khrushchev did visit America and the president’s retreat. While the East-West competition did not end, a certain positive spirit lingered and informed the arms control talks and détente that eventually produced the downfall of the USSR. Trump’s gambit does, then, have a basis in history and deserves cautious support....

Meet the Conservative Parkland Massacre Survivor, @KyleKashuv, the Media Has Largely Ignored (Updated)

On the afternoon of February 14, 2018, Kyle Kashuv found himself in the midst of a waking nightmare, huddled in a classroom closet for two harrowing hours, attempting to console and reassure terrified fellow students. An apparent fire drill had abruptly turned into a bloodbath after a gunman calculatingly lured potential victims into the halls of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School by pulling the fire alarm -- a ghoulish maneuver designed to maximize the bodycount.

...Kashuv is just as much a Parkland survivor as now-familiar names like David Hogg and Cameron Kasky, yet his views have only garnered limited attention.

I ask him why he thinks that's the case. "I don't know," he says, hesitantly. "Maybe because I don't use inflammatory language. I speak calmly and logically without much emotion. I don't necessarily make the very best headline." He's politely referring to some of his more "famous" peers' propensity to launch provocative and partisan attacks, such as repeated assertions that people who disagree with their political or policy preferences "don't care" about dead children, or have 'blood on their hands.' But Kashuv knows that the disparate treatment he's lived isn't merely attributable to stylistic differences; he's convinced that the substance of his views is what has diminished his appeal to many activists and journalists....

...He wasn't invited to participate in CNN's raucous and emotional town hall meeting in the wake of the shooting, watching it instead on television along with the general public (he says some of the pro-gun control students who traveled with him in Tallahassee were flown back for the event). He didn't like what he saw. "The entire CNN town hall was very ineffective. It worsened the divide," he laments. "It was so counter productive because Republicans would answer back, and they weren't really able to voice logical concerns and [talk about] what they wanted to do because they were just booed. It was simply counterproductive. That's the only word for it."...

Ending 70-year Ban, Saudi Arabia Allows Flights to Israel Over Its Airspace

Had this video been released weeks ago, I believe it would have re-focused a portion of the public outrage where it belongs, i.e. on the law enforcement failures that were part of this.

Deputy Scot Peterson is the armed Broward County Sheriff’s Deputy who remained outside Marjory Stoneman Douglas high school during the shooting last month. Peterson was heavily criticized for his inaction and, through his lawyer, released a statement saying he, “believed that those gunshots were originating from outside of any of the buildings on the school campus.” Today the Miami Herald reports that audio recordings of police dispatch indicate Peterson knew almost right away that the shots were coming from a specific building....
