Humboldt County Supervisors are currently in violation of County Code 2210-8

Subject: Grand jury complaint

Attention Humboldt GOP members:

As we’ve mentioned in our previous email, the Humboldt County Supervisors are currently in violation of County Code 2210-8 that states they “shall proclaim the termination of the local health emergency at the earliest possible date that conditions warrant the termination”. As citizens we can file a complaint with the Civil Grand Jury about this violation. We’ve attached a pdf file to this email with a complaint form already filled out. All you have to do is print it, fill in your personal information, sign it, and mail it to the address listed below. As citizens we must participate in our representative government while we’re still able to. Please take a few minutes to do this so we can stop this madness.

Thank you,

What are your reasons for filing this complaint?

The Board of Supervisors is currently in violation of county code 2210-8 that clearly states that they "shall proclaim the termination of the local health emergency at the earliest possible date that

conditions warrant the termination."
The following statistics are taken from the County Dashboard
Percentage of total population that have died from/with Covid: 0.08% Percentage of total population that have been hospitalized from/with Covid: 0.3% Percentage of hospital beds currently occupied by Covid patients: 6% Percentage of ICU beds occupied by Covid patients: 17%

These numbers do not justify an emergency declaration. It's clear our local elected officials are doing this solely to receive state and federal funding.

What is your desired outcome and what do you believe the Grand Jury can do to result in this outcome?

End the Covid-19 medical emergency, fire and replace the Public Health Officer Ian Hoffman for negligence, remove any Supervisor that refuses to end the emergency.

If needed, separately provide a detailed statement of your complaint. The more details provided, the easier. Include the names of all individuals involved in the complaint; the locations, dates, and times of actions relative to the complaint; and the names of all witnesses to actions involved in the complaint.
